Yes, it has here in Brussels too. There are a lot of magnolia trees here for some reason and they are all in full bloom and stunning. All my doggies at classes on saturday morning were frisky and full of the joys of spring. Hmmmhmmm.
Hmm..I was half asleep listening to Ed Stourton and James Naughtie this morning, so I'm afraid I can't give you the detail, but apparently half the wild magnolias have disappeared.
Perhaps one of your other readers has more information ..

Here is that story; I was barking up the wrong tree in my earlier post..
The brevity of the full bloom of a magnolia is symbolic of both the importance of the moment and also the hope of greater things to follow.
