The FT has some good acronyms for worries over Europe. In addition to the awful "Grexit" (the possible Greek exit from the Euro), it now has "Spanic" (panic over Spain), "Spaindemonium" and "Squit" (Spain quitting the Euro).
English is such a beautiful language that it can be so flexible in creating effects, simply by playing with words or letters. I love puns and acronyms and I've picked up a lot of silly words in the tabloids too. Perhaps it is one of the reasons why English concepts can be so vivid and they tend to travel faster, than using some other languages.
