Greek ruins
My Classics teacher friend tells me that only 170 schoolchildren took Greek A Level this year. Classical Civilisation ("Class Civ") is fast replacing Classics as a university degree. oimoi, pheu pheu.

Recently at a memorial and book launch on Rathlin Island I met the son of my ace classics public school teacher. The last time that I had seen him or rather evidence of him was before he was born. He was then as now somewhat of a large lump.
And in case you ask about the events on Rathlin - just Google one Wallace Clark. I am sure that he will be there. Some guy I tell you!
