Quack of the day

I took my father for his check-up at the Southampton eye clinic today. The consultant who'd performed the operation peered into his left eye for about five minutes and said,
"It all looks really good: no burst blood vessels. It's healed very nicely!"
"You operated on his right eye," I observed.
He didn't apologise...

I had an experience about a year ago when I was getting a mole removed from above my lip. The nurse prepping me said take your shirt off. I did think it was a bit strange, but did as I was told. The consultant then came in and peered at my chest.
He said " I can't see a lump" I told him I didn't have a chest lump but I did have a mole on my lip ( pointing at it)He went out and the nurse came back in again.
"So you are refusing to have the lump on your chest removed?" I explained again it was a mole on my lip ( point point).
" You do realise if you refuse treatment you will be crossed off the waiting list." I explained again, and was told the doctor had referred me for a lump on my chest. I asked to see the letter. They produced it - for someone with a completely different name address and age.
The nurse then asked if I was sure my name was kinglear. At that point I got up and left.

My doc had kept a copy of the letter he had sent and shouted at the admin staff that had dealt with it. Very un-PC but as he has now retired I think he probably had had enough and knew he would be out before the police appeared|!
